-He became a photographer as a way to escape the pressure of his business oriented family. Growing up in Europe during WWII as a jewish man made Frank see the world in a way others did not. He saw the bad in the world.
-He apprenticed for Hermann Segesser. He worked for Harper's Bazaar, wrote the Americans and worked with the promotion department at the New York Times.
